Inside the Yaani method
Yaani turns a suspicious message into two useful things: a sourced best assessment of what is true, and a lesson in why this version was built to travel.
One message, five gates
Yaani separates the factual payload from outrage, persuasion and forwarding instructions. Dates, people, places, quantities and media provenance remain attached because changing one may create a different claim.
Claim: every Indian WhatsApp account will be charged ₹499 a month.The search looks for product announcements, primary records, current reporting, independent fact-checks and credible disconfirmation. Known claims reuse reviewed memory; changed claims reopen only what changed.
Expected: a WhatsApp pricing notice. Found: no announcement—only repeating chain messages and debunks.Four specialist lenses test evidence quality, physical or institutional mechanism, historical recurrence and the strongest viable alternative. Agreement is diagnostic evidence; it is never the source of truth.
Alternative tested: paid business products exist, but they do not establish a fee for ordinary users.Evidence status, best assessment and confidence stay separate. Missing expected records and an implausible mechanism can support a likely judgment while genuine unknowns remain visible.

What keeps the system honest
“Someone fact-checked it” is not enough. Yaani teaches the mechanism, expected institutional trace, media provenance or scientific reason that supports the conclusion.
A cold claim can receive a calibrated likely assessment when missing expected records, implausible mechanisms and known message structure point in the same direction.
A familiar hoax shape should update the assessment, but it cannot erase the possibility that a similar-looking warning is genuine. The report shows the contribution and its limits.
Older reports remain immutable. New evidence creates a newer review, and the public case points people toward the current assessment rather than silently rewriting history.
Calibrated language
Confidence answers “how stable is this read?” Evidence status answers “what kind of support do we have?” The assessment answers “what should a person believe and do right now?” Yaani keeps all three.
